What this website collects
Very little. The guide pages have no user accounts, no forms, no analytics and no tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not store anything in your browser. (The separate editing area used by our own staff sets a login cookie for staff only.)
Like every website, our hosting provider receives technical request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested, time) in order to deliver the page and protect the service against abuse. This is based on our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are kept only for a short period by the hosting provider and are not used to identify you.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Data may be processed outside the EU; Vercel is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and bound by a data processing agreement with us.
Third-party content you choose to open
- Route video. The video is hosted on YouTube and is loaded only when you press play. From that moment YouTube (Google) processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Tour operators. Booking links take you to the operator's own website or booking system. The operator is responsible for the data you give them when you book.
- WhatsApp and phone. If you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone, we use your message and number only to answer you and to handle your stay. WhatsApp is operated by Meta under its own terms.
Your booking
Your booking details are processed by us and our booking software to provide your stay, as described when you booked. This website does not ask for or store them.
Paying for extras
If you pay for early check-in or late check-out by card, the payment is handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Ireland). We receive your name, email, the amount and the booking reference you enter — never your card details. We keep payment records for as long as Finnish accounting law requires (6 years after the end of the financial year).
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its processing. Contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
